I love long shutter speed shots like this and especially when they're so soft and dreamy. It adds the kind of gentle, ephemeral action you expect for ballet but often don't normally see. A tiny hint of Eros within a captured moment of art and innocence- nicely done!

It was originally for project to design a set of postage stamps. Which is why it looks better in the thumbnail on the main page.

This is nice Terri! Again I'd love to see it up close and from different angles ...

Hey Terri! Just wanna echo what Vixen said ... I would also want to see your work 'for real' in the actual 3-d mode you made it in, not just a photograph ... but as photographs go, this is good in its own right ... the colours - brown, blue, greyish - the lines - vertical, horizontal, irregular ... the interesting textures ... again yes, like Vixen, I'd like to walk around and look at it at different angles! As it is I think it might be a good reference for an abstract painting!

Maniacal Vixen / "Glocken's Glen"

Hey Vix, great pic! You really pulled off that 'atmospheric' effect with the sunbeams, and the highlights and shady spots on the trees and in the ferns ... the water is also done really well, it really does seem 'watery' which is sometimes difficult when working in black and white ... there's a nice balance between activity and tranquility here. I'd love to see a bigger version of this so as to make out more of the details!

This is really a good photo jwf! The way the foreground is darkest, the water a bit lighter, the sky a bit lighter still and then the sun and its reflection in the water balanced by that weird blue ray shooting upwards into the sky!

What is nice to me is the 'black and white' patches in between the patches of almost-primary colours. To me it looks as if there's a 'focal point' close to the upper left-hand corner, with the bold black and white, and the bright orange, deep red and purple, environed with strong blue as well. The rest of the painting is 'softer'.

I took the shot at Lynn Valley Park which is a 15 drive from where I live. It was during this trip:
http://public.fotki.com/clzoomer/clz_vt_and_others/
and the water is glacial run off from Seymour Mountain. Some of the colours are relections of swimmers standing on the other shore. In my work I am constantly looking for backrounds for graphic artists to use, usually moving but now and then static. I saw the image in my head but as I posted earlier it took three tries to capture it.
Thank you all for your very generous compliments.
Cheers!

Thanks for your replies :)

It's a panel for a comic i'm doing as part of a uni project.

I can't claim full credit for the composition though, it's partly based on an old photo by brother took.

Hi Anneke,

I like this piece. How big is it? Would you like to bring it to show me at the Fellowship?

I also like the Mandala pieces. Are they both the same? Could I take a look at that too on Sunday?

Bonnie
